Savage Neck Dunes

Savage Neck Dunes is a secluded 298-acre preserve that includes a mile of Chesapeake Bay shoreline, maritime forest, a freshwater pond, and a 0.75-mile trail through some of the highest sand dunes on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. There are three marked trails with signage to explore the area.

Its about a half mile hike through the woods to the beach, so travel light, with water and possibly bug spray. There are no facilities and there are only eight parking spaces. Please do not park in a non-designated area. If there is no room to park, please return later.
