Parksley

Ah, Parksley, the town that time forgot. Walking around town, one gets the sense of how it used to be a thriving, beautiful town. The bones are still there, but it could use some Botox. Nevertheless, there are delightful things to see, and one can appreciate its charms of small town life. There is a farmer’s market in the summer, The Club Car Cafe serves an excellent burger, and a new library is being built, next door to a Dollar General. The contrast is odd but it is nice to see the investment in the area, and hopefully it will expand to other new businesses. The homes boast of a wide variety of styles, from modest bungalows to grand Victorian ladies.
